Actors Owen Wilson and Amanda Bynes will arrive on campus today to film a scene for ?Hall Pass,? a comedy directed by Bobby and Peter Farrely to be released next year.

David McClurkin, filming liaison for Emory University and business development manager of marketing, said that Emory is one of 42 locations of filming in Georgia and that Emory alum JB Rogers (?86C) is working on the movie as first assistant director.

The film crew will arrive on campus at 8 a.m. and set up during the day at the Kappa Alpha Order (KA) and Alpha Tau Omega (ATO) houses. Filming will begin this evening and Eagle Row will be closed until 6 a.m. tomorrow.

The two fraternity houses will be transformed into sorority houses for the film, McClurkin said.

?Emory won?t be featured by any means,? McClurkin said, ?but Emory has what looks like really authentic [Greek life] houses that look good in front of the camera.

McClurkin said that Emory will be paid for providing the location.

College senior and ATO member Stephen Beehler said the ATO and KA houses have a classic fraternity character that was needed for the movie location.

?It?s pretty exciting,? he said. ?Emory gets a lot of offers to have movies come and film on the campus and they don?t always accept those offers. We have a beautiful campus and this is a chance for us to show it off. It?ll be nice to see ATO on the big screen in a couple of months.?

College sophomore and ATO member Thomas Anderson agreed.

?It?s really cool just to be selected [as a filming location]. It will be really cool to look back at that movie years from now and see that we were part of it and that Emory was a part of it,? he said.

College senior and KA member Robert Conrad said his fraternity is especially excited to see celebrities like Wilson and Bynes.

Thanks to Jeff for the article.

They both played TV teenagers in the 90s, but it took a couple decades for actresses Christina Applegate and Alyssa Milano to earn a “Hall Pass.” According to The Hollywood Reporter, the lovely ladies have been cast in the Farrelly brothers comedy alongside already announced stars Owen Wilson, Jason Sudeikis, Jenna Fischer and Amanda Bynes .

With a growing gang of famous faces, the flick seems to be shaping up to be the raunchy step-cousin to Garry Marshall’s sweet-as-pie “Valentine’s Day” (though we somehow doubt the actors’ mugs will be combined into the shape of a heart for the “Hall Pass” poster).

The flick “centers on what happens when two husbands are given permission to go outside their marriages for guilt-free romantic liaisons for one week.” We’re not sure which characters Christina and Alyssa will play, but it’s likely at least one, if not both, will be married to the husbands mentioned, which leaves one burning question: Who in their right mind who want to step out on these gals? We’re curious to see how this kooky premise turns out and if the wives get a little on-the-side lovin’ of their own (if you know what I mean).

What do you think Crushers? Do you think “Hall Pass” is going to ace the reviews or end up on academic probation?

Thanks to Jeff for the article.

I came across this new regarding one of Amanda’s upcoming movie The Hall Pass.

When the Farrellys are on, they are ON. So their upcoming comedy HALL PASS was definitely something I’ve had my eye on. Then Jenna Fischer and Amanda Bynes get cast now and I got enough boners to last me till Christmas. How do you top that? You cast Stephen Merchant (“The Office”, “Extras”) and motherf*cking Leon, J.B. Smoove, from “Curb Your Enthusiasm”!

HALL PASS is about a pair of married couples that are given “get out of jail free cards” to engage in extramarital affairs, which I presume will not end up being all fun and games. Owen Wilson, playing the role of “Rick”, is already attached as the lead along with SNL cast member Jason Sudeikis, who plays “Fred”. Merchant and Smoove will play Rick and Fred’s buddies who tag along for the hijinks.

The movie is set to start shooting today in Atlanta, GA and is expected to be released sometime next year. Merchant has CEMETERY JUNCTION coming up with his co-writer and co-director Ricky Gervais, as well as a starring role in John Landis’s BURKE AND HARE opposite Simon Pegg and Andy Serkis. Smoove just recently wrapped the Shawn Levy-directed DATE NIGHT.

Off topic I would like to thank everyone for the nice comments on the site! On the first day we had over 300 unique visitors, this makes me so happy!!

So we hear a lot about pilots that will never see the light of prime time. Here’s a look at some of them that won’t be getting made this year:

Amanda Bynes was one of five friends all “Canned” on the same day in an ABC comedy.

Notice Please excuse me from not updating in a while. I’m currently in a legal matter with my parents and I’m trying to get it all fixed.

Not everybody can star in Footloose, but they certainly seem to be trying.

Miley Cyrus is the latest hot young thing being considered for the leading-lady role in the remake of the song-and-dance extravaganza, E! News has exclusively learned.

“They’ve expressed interest in Miley for the part,” a source close to the tween queen said.

A source close to the production further added that Cyrus “is definitely in the mix.”

As it stands, that mix currently includes Hayden Panettiere, Amanda Bynes and Dancing With the Stars pro Julianne Hough, all of whom have auditioned in recent weeks for the part of Ariel Moore, the independent-minded daughter of a preacher man, originated in the 1984 classic by Lori Singer.

One starlet who hasn’t auditioned for the role: Cyrus. Presumably because her singing, dancing and audience-pulling prowess have already been proven.

While Cyrus’s reps had no comment on the potential casting coup, it may be a bit premature for her to sign on the dotted line just yet. The film has a release date of June 18, 2010, and Cyrus’ schedule is already booked through the end of summer.

The Disney star will soon be heading down to Georgia, with production on the adaptation of Nicholas Sparks’s as yet unreleased book The Last Song scheduled to begin June 15.

As for Footloose, no castmembers have yet been officially announced, though Chace Crawford seems a mortal lock to replace the suddenly musical-eschewing Zac Efron.

Sure hope Amanda gets the role.

Finally! Some news about a potential new Amanda project.

Having been working in feature films recently, such as Hairspray and the Lifetime movie Living Proof, Amanda Bynes is returning to series television with a new role in the ABC pilot Canned, says the Hollywood Reporter.

Obviously a sign of our times, the project is about a group of friends who are all fired during a corporate shake-up. Bynes will play one of that central group, named Sarabeth, who is described as “a native Midwestern girl who often spent nights at the office to get her work done.”

We will of course keep you informed of any futher news on this.
