For millions of kids back in the 90s, Friday nights were spent on the couch, watching (and laughing at) the tween comic geniuses of Nickelodeon’s “All That.”

With ten seasons in eleven years (1994 – 2005), this comedy-variety show broadcasted countless memorable sketches and produced some of the most recognizable faces in children’s network history. But alas, the years have passed and we find ourselves wondering: now that they’re all grown up, where are they now?

Amanda Bynes, aka Ashley of “Ask Ashley,” has had much success in the movie business. Over the past five years, Bynes has starred in several movies, including “She’s the Man” (2006), “Hairspray” (2007), “Sydney White” (2007), “Living Proof” (2008), and “Easy A” (2010).

Check out the schedule and list of shows here.

In celebration, we’ve decided to devote each day in the countdown to a classic Nick show.

Today: “The Amanda Show”

Created by Nickelodeon legend Dan Schneider (All That, Kenan & Kel, Drake & Josh, iCarly, and Victorious), the sketch comedy show aired from November 6, 1999 to September 21, 2002 and starred Amanda Bynes, Drake Bell, Nancy Sullivan, and Josh Peck (seasons 2 and 3). Where are they now?

Amanda has acted in television and film, with her latest role as Marianne Bryant in “Easy A.” She has been on and off of acting for a while, but we may expect to see more of Amanda’s great acting in the future.

The AmandaPlease website shown in each show still exists to this day.

Every generation has a group of kids they feel like they grew up with because they watched them on TV. For me, it’s the Disney and Nickelodeon “class” of 1995 to 2005. They were examples of how to always feel embarrassed by my parents (That’s So Raven), crimp certain parts of my hair and not others (Lizzie McGuire) and talk in loud, obnoxious voices (All That). So with Raven-Symone’s impending return to TV on ABC Family’s State of Georgia, I’m taking a look at where my former Disney and Nick role models are nowadays, and assigning superlatives to their adult lives and careers.

Most Potential: Amanda Bynes
I wanted to cry for like a week when Amanda Bynes said she was quitting acting. First of all, she was brilliant on All That and The Amanda Show — by far the strongest comedic actress on Nickelodeon during the ’95-’05 era. And she made the transition to adult comedic actress seamlessly — never taking herself too seriously and always playing light, funny roles in movies like What A Girl Wants, She’s the Man and Hairspray. And then of course, there was her latest turn as the holier-than-thou high school student Marianne in Easy A. Aside from her TMI-style tweets, here’s hoping she doesn’t quit on us ever again.

Amanda Bynes is hardly shy when it comes to posting sexy photos or expressing exactly how she feels about guys on Twitter.

“I believe in no regrets,” Bynes, 25, told PEOPLE at the MTV Movie Awards. “You say what you feel because you felt it at the moment.”

So why does she have the desire to share her emotions with over 5,000 strangers who follow her Twitter updates?

“It’s sort of like what I would tell a reporter if I were doing an interview,” Bynes says. “You kind of have to let people know a little bit about you. And once you’ve been in the business for a long time, people kind of know stuff about your life.”

“I don’t tell anybody anything too personal,” she continues. “But I say stuff I would say in an interview.”

Still, Bynes says she’s learning to keep some things to herself.

“I don’t like talking about [dating],” she says. “But when I’m getting married, I’ll be open about that.”

A Twitter topic she would address? Last year’s so-called plan to retire.

“I really just needed some time off,” she says of the infamous Tweet announcing her decision to quit appearing in front of the camera. “I’ve been acting since I was seven, and I’m 25 now. So, it’s not retiring so much. It’s just taking some time off.”

source

Amanda Bynes was a trending topic once again on twitter yesterday!!! And she now have more than 76.000 followers which is awesome. Follow her if we haven’t yet: @msamandabynes_

Just in case you didn’t know whom you should be admiring, Kidglue.com came out with their list of Top 10 Role Models of 2011, so ignore your own thoughts and listen up to what they have to say.

The list seems to have been compiled with a very simple formula – famous teens that don’t get hounded by the paparazzi for doing bad things are considered role models. In other words, you won’t be finding Demi Lovato or Lindsay (no more Lohan) on this list.

Amanda Bynes is in seventh place. While she used to be strictly anti-party; Amanda is now striving to show that it’s possible to go out and have a good time without getting carried away with it.

The U.S. cable network Nickelodeon says it is planning a new nighttime programming block this fall on TeenNick called “The ’90s Are All That!”

The block will feature a rotating selection of live-action and animated shows from Nickelodeon’s 1990s library — including “All That,” “Clarissa Explains it All,” “The Adventures of Pete & Pete,” “Rugrats,” “Rocket Power,” “Salute Your Shorts,” “The Amanda Show” and “Kenan & Kel.”

“There is an entire generation of young people who literally grew up on these great 1990s’ series, and many of them have been vocal about wanting to see and experience these shows again,” Keith Dawkins, senior vice president and general manager of Nicktoons and TeenNick, said in a statement. “TeenNick caters to the older segment of the Nick audience, so it’s the perfect place to reconnect these shows to their original fans and introduce them to younger viewers for the very first time.”

“The ’90s Are All That!” will air Monday through Sunday from midnight to 2 a.m. ET, starting in the fall, Nickelodeon said.

Amanda Bynes, Drew Barrymore, Emma Watson and more are taking breaks from the biz! But why?

What the heck is happening in Hollywood these days? Some of the biggest names in the biz are taking a break (some extended, some permanent) from their thriving acting careers. Just who is officially sick of having the acting bug and what are their reasons for being quitters? Read on, BFFs!

Emma Watson

The 20-year-old Harry Potter starlet is planning on taking a three-year break to graduate from college; she’s currently a sophomore at Brown University in Providence, RI. “I want to forget about hair and makeup,” Emma told UK paper The Times. “Sometimes on a publicity tour I can’t remember what time it is, what country I’m in. Now it’s coming to an end I’m trying to hold on to it. So I have a book, and everyone I’ve met has a page. I want to remember them and not just be left with the media version of what happened to me.”

Alec Baldwin

The 30 Rock star has threatened to quit acting for good when his contract with NBC expires in 2012. “I don’t have any interest in acting anymore,” the 52-year-old Emmy winner said in the December issue of Men’s Journal. “Movies are a part of my past. It’s been 30 years. I’m not young, but I have time to do something else.”

Sandra Bullock

Sandy has definitely had a tumultuous year! She won an Oscar, secretly adopted son Louis Bardo Bullock and divorced husband Jesse James after learning about his multiple affairs. But now the single mom plans on taking time out to enjoy what she loves the most – her newborn son. “All I know is that I want to be able to enjoy being a mom. Doing all the things moms get to do, outside in the sun, in the world,” the 45-year-old actress told People magazine. “The career will have to wait for a bit. I don’t want to step into that world until I can find out what room I left my armor in. You need tough skin to be in this business. I don’t have tough skin right now and I don’t want it”, she said about her future plans.”

Amanda Bynes

Amanda announced via Twitter that she plans on retiring from acting – at the ripe old age of 24! “I know 24 is a young age to retire but you heard it here first I’ve #retired,” the actress posted June 19. Too bad – we loved What A Girl Wants!

Drew Barrymore

Drew has fallen in love with Justin Long and directed her first film, Whip It!, in recent years, and now she’s ready for a break and wants to recharge her batteries. “For three years straight, I’ve been burning the candle at both ends, and as of last December, I just didn’t have anything left,” the 35-year-old Going the Distance star says in the August issue of Elle. Now, Drew is done being “so aggressive about living life to the fullest and being plugged into everything” and has “ripped the plug out of the wall and put it on the floor for a while.”
